NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC), an equal production joint venture of ACWA Power, Air Products and NEOM, is establishing the world’s largest green-hydrogen-based ammonia production facility run on renewable energy. This mega-plant will produce up to 600 tonnes per day of carbon-free hydrogen in the form of green ammonia for sectors globally.
Air Products is the primary EPC contractor and system integrator, and the exclusive off-taker of the green hydrogen produced in the form of green ammonia at the NGHC facility.
Building on this milestone, Air Products has finalized a marketing and distribution agreement with Yara International for renewable ammonia from the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project. Under the agreement, Yara will commercialize and distribute the renewable ammonia not used by Air Products to produce green hydrogen. This model creates the first fully integrated value chain for renewable ammonia by enabling product from the world's first large-scale green ammonia plant to be sold and delivered to Yara's existing global supply chain.
