Air Products Highlights Hydrogen-Based Low- and Zero-Carbon Solutions at the 5th China International Import Expo

The Company Forges Partnerships to Support the Country’s Sustainable Development

Air Products (NYSE: APD), a world-leading industrial gases company and a global leader in hydrogen, is participating for the third time in the China International Import Expo (CIIE), the world’s first import-themed national-level expo. Exhibiting in the Low-Carbon Energy and Environmental Protection Technology Zone at CIIE 2022 held in Shanghai from November 5-10, Air Products will showcase its latest technology and innovations to support China in achieving high-quality development of the industrial and transport sectors, and helping the country reach its carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. 

Air Products is participating for the third time in the China International Import Expo.

We aim to achieve this by leveraging our global clean energy megaprojects and operational experience, particularly in green and blue hydrogen.”

Along with over 280 global leading companies and thousands of businesses from 127 countries and regions at the expo, Air Products exhibits under the theme “Together, Realizing Our Dreams of a Sustainable Future.” Key highlights include: 

  • Hydrogen-based low- and zero-carbon solutions: An integrated model showing Air Products’ leading-edge and reliable technology on air separation, gasification, carbon capture, utilization and permanent sequestration, hydrogen and hydrogen liquefication, and localized solutions. The innovative integration allows low- and zero-carbon technologies and solutions to play a key role in decarbonizing the steel and chemical industries, and mobility market, to help industry transformation and upgrade, as well as support China’s ‘Dual Carbon’ goals. 
  • Sustainability in action: Air Products’ has announced commitments to reach net zero emission operations by 2050 and invest $15 billion through 2027 on hydrogen megaprojects to drive the energy transition. The company is executing several flagship projects. These include the world's largest carbon-free hydrogen project in NEOM, Saudi Arabia; a net-zero hydrogen energy complex in Alberta, Canada; a clean energy complex in Louisiana and a green liquid hydrogen production facility in New York, USA. Domestically, the company is also building China’s first world-class commercial liquid hydrogen production facility in Haiyan, Jiaxing of Zhejiang Province. 
At CIIE 2022, Air Products showcases its hydrogen-based low- and zero-carbon solutions to support China’s ‘Dual Carbon’ goals.

During the six-day event, Air Products will celebrate 65 years of supplying hydrogen around the world and the 35th anniversary in serving China. The company will also sign a long-term liquid hydrogen supply contract with a leading powder metallurgy manufacturer, and achieve several strategic cooperations with local partners to continue exploring collaboration opportunities on liquid hydrogen, hydrogen fueling stations and hydrogen truck fleets towards zero-emission logistics.

As one of the first multinational industrial gas corporations to enter China in 1987, Air Products has continued to invest and expand to improve customers’ productivity, efficiency, quality and environmental performance. The company has participated in several clean energy demonstration and pilot projects in China, including the first hydrogen fueling station project in Zhangjiakou for the green 2022 Winter Olympics, and has been advancing the energy transition through hydrogen.

The Air Products booth is located at 3B3-03 in the Low-Carbon Energy and Environmental Protection Technology Zone of the Technology and Equipment Pavilion in Hall 3.
